53 Days of Consistency

We are left with only 53 days till end year, which can make or break 2017. While many are taking their vacations during this time, it is good to hustle as much as possible to set yourself for the best position to win, as we approach 2018.

We often make excuses for being inconsistent. Either we are distracted or burned out. But usually it is the former. So much is going through in our inner selfs to fight distraction, especially in the attention-seeking-economy, where everything single thing in our lives is fighting for our attention.

Here, focus goes along with sustainable effort. Finding the motivation and drive to do things without being overwhelmed is the key to stay consistent for 53 days and beyond. It sure is tough and cannot be done without an honest self-reflection.

Let's hustle and scale greater heights into 2018. May Allah open all the doors to success for us in this world and the next.

IMG-6799

It is probably the most important step that many of us miss. Even if you're travelling for a holiday alone or with a group of friends, it is still important to register and check out the travel advisory.

Getting A Visa

The make or break moment lies in getting a visa. Back then, my first choice was Syria; I was hell bent on it. But it did not come across to me that we do not have any diplomatic ties with them. Hence, the nearest embassy was in KL.

Research, Bearing Safety in Mind

One of the dialogues in 'Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk book used by Fajr Center.

Driven by the excitement to venture overseas, you quickly check out flight details, accommodation and safety. Safety is the #1 priority when you travel overseas, especially in the Middle East. Many of us have the impression that the countries are not safe due to the Arab Spring, protests and demonstrations. The media is not helping by exaggerating their news reports, and making it look like the entire country is not stable. A demonstration in Tahrir Square does not mean the entire Cairo is a hot spot; only Tahrir is affected.

Intentions

Every Ramadhan, the huffaz will decorate the holy month with verses of the Quran.

Moving into post-Ramadhan, some of us aspire to develop a deeper relationship with the Quran, by learning Arabic. But where do you start?

In the next few posts or so, I will be sharing my experience from learning arabic overseas. Regardless if you want to study locally or venturing overseas for greater exposure, I hope I can help you in making a decision

Preserving The Lineage For Later Generations

It is heartbreaking to see my mum fighting her battles with the illness.  On any day, she would start her mornings with with tahajjud prayers, followed by making breakfast for the family, a morning walk at the nearby park and catch up with friends. But Allah puts every one of us in our places, to remind us that nothing is permanent in this life. For the past year, my mum has been shuttling in and out of the hospital.
