At this point, you are probably bubbling with excitement at the thought of studying overseas, and experiencing life away from home. You look forward to exploring the arab culture and picking up precious gems of wisdom along the way.
But before booking your flight tickets, seek blessings from your family; parents, siblings, close relatives, and teachers. Perform your istikharaah and hajat, and ask Allah if this decision is the right one. Ask Him for guidance and facilitate your affairs. Discuss this with your parents and never do anything without their blessing.
Not everyone will have the opportunity to study abroad. Even if you study locally, it is still a personal jihad. And as mentioned in my previous post, there are no shortage of arabic language centres here. Although studying Arabic in a non-arab culture is tough, you can be fluent if you put your heart and soul to it. Nonetheless, I pray that Allah guides you to the best decision for you and your family.
